Little Kevin Wants a Birthday

Little Kevin is my leopard tortoise who hatched in 2020 and came to me soon after. I take him on school visits where he puts on a show. His initial reaction is to look for hiding places and escape routes when he is placed on a student table, but the students think he is walking around to visit them all. He also will eat from the hand of anyone who puts romaine lettuce in front of him. We also explain the parts of a tortoise, where he comes from, and his reptile characteristics. Most kids even get a chance to hold him, scratch his head, or rub him with a brush. He’s entertained groups over 40 where every child was able to feed, handle, and enjoy Little Kevin. We like to book his visits in the spring when teachers could use some help and the kids could use a distraction from their daily routine.
